DERMA-SIL and CSG are addition-curing HTV silicones (with platinum catalyst) available in Shore A hardnesses 5, 10, 20, 35, 65 and 70.
Compliant with 93/42/EEC and 2007/47/EC Medical Device Directives, DERMA-SIL and CSG HTV silicones are suitable for skin contact and the manufacture of prostheses, epitheses and other orthopaedic and medical objects.
DERMA-SIL and CSG, each consisting of two components (Part A + B), are kneadable and formable in their raw state and can be dyed with liquid colour pigments (e.g. SILG-PIG™ or FUSE-FX™ S series) as well as with flock fibres (available from KauPo). These HTV silicones are ideally cured thermally at approx. 90°C. The cross-linked dimethylsiloxane and methylvinylsiloxane copolymer compounds lead to high tear and abrasion resistance as well as good chemical resistance and heat resistance up to 200°C. Furthermore, the cured HTV silicones exhibit good gas permeability and are therefore also suitable for autoclave applications.
